The AER 112P is a toughened, solvent-free, hot-melt epoxy prepreg system known for its good tack and drape. It is highly versatile and suitable for both Vacuum Bagging and Compression Moulding, and is classified as an out-of-autoclave (OOA) system. The system achieves a moderate Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) of 160 degrees C.
Mechanical Performance:
Highest Performance: When used with T700, 12K, UD Carbon Prepreg, it achieves exceptional strength with 2616 MPa Tensile Strength (Warp) and a 152 GPa Tensile Modulus (Warp).
Balanced Strength: Other prepregs (T300, AS4C) deliver high, multi-directional strength, including up to 920 MPa in Flexural Strength (AS4C) and up to 800 MPa in Compression Strength (T300).
Shear Performance: Short Beam Shear Strengths consistently range from 70 MPa to 88 MPa across the different material configurations.
Processing & Storage:
Cure Cycle: The standard cure is at 130 degrees C with a dwell time of 120 minutes.
Post Cure: A post cure is recommended at 140 degrees C for 240 minutes.
Storage & Life: The material has a generous 60 day Out Life at 22 degrees C, and a 12 month Shelf Life when stored at -18 degrees C.
